Ms. Elizabeth Post - the Psychology of Money

Greetings students. I send this message in follow-up to my presentation last week. Specifically, I circle back to the history of money and Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.

The History of Money:

For those who wish to take a deeper dive into the history of money, here are a few websites to visit.

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs:

From our discussion last week, it is apparent that you all have working knowledge of the practical application of Maslow’s theory. Here I highlight the top of his pyramid, Self-actualization.

This pinnacle of achievement is expressed in many ways. The diagram below best speaks to me – “the desire to become the most that one can be.” That is, finding the balance between life’s everyday demands and finding that in life which grows your soul. No amount of money will help one achieve this height. The magic to reach this goal comes from within.

I wish you all the best & Continued strength!
